Edge Testing Solutions Makes Two New Appointments to Spearhead Northern Expansion
Major expansion plans around M62 corridor and surrounding areas:
One of the UK’s fastest growing and largest independent software testing companies, Edge Testing Solutions, part of Eurofins Digital Testing, has announced the appointment of Kelly White to spearhead its growth across Cheshire, Manchester and Lancashire, and Yorkshireman Julian Lawless to lead its growth across the Yorkshire region.
Kelly has over eight years of test lead experience and, as part of the software testing company’s plans to build a team for clients in the area, her role as Service Delivery Manager will see her managing client relationships existing client base, which incorporates companies in Warrington, Lancashire, Liverpool and Manchester. Julian will do the same for Edge’s existing Yorkshire client base, which incorporates companies in Bradford and Leeds. Both Kelly and Julian will also oversee securing contracts with new clients and managing service delivery.
Kelly said: "Our client expectations on individual skill sets are demanding more technical and agile environment experience, which Edge offers, thanks to our Digital Test Hubs. We will be launching a Manchester-based Digital Test Hub, which will provide our clients with an easily accessed remote testing service for their in-house applications and back office systems. As part of the Digital Test Hub launch, we will be recruiting team members from across the region. We chose Manchester as the Digital Test Hub base as it has a strong tech focus and reputation, so is a highly-valued area, andthrough it we will be bringing fresh blood to the Manchester software testing sector.”
The company is exploring co-operation with local universities to replicate success with Scottish universities such as the University of Strathclyde, the University of the West of Scotland in Paisley, Stirling University and New College Lanarkshire.
Commenting on his appointment, Julian said: "The traditional testing role is diminishing and clients expect software testers to have a wider knowledge and deeper technical knowledge as well as business acumen.
“That’s why we are investing in our UK workforce significantly, and sourcing experienced and committed team members for the region, as well as identifying candidates with no testing experience, but a passion for technology and a willingness to learn.”
This workforce investment plan, which Kelly and Julian are heading up, will see Edge Testing recruiting for senior test consultants, test leads, test managers and test analysts, who will also extend parent company Eurofins’ presence in the North of England.
Rob Maxfield, New Business Director at Edge, explains: “Together with Eurofins, we can provide clients with a far more comprehensive offering, incorporating both Eurofins’ and Edge’s testing services, to provide them with a regional resource to ensure that high quality software is developed to underpin their clients’ growth.”
Kelly and Julian’s appointments are just one part of Edge’s major expansion plans across the North, after the software testing company also appointed Sharon Hamilton as Managing Director to overseeing all operational, sales, financial and human resources activities and the software testing company’s expansion of its client base in the North of England with its Digital Test Hub (DTH) services.
Edge originally launched the Digital Test Hub (DTH) concept, which was the first of its kind in the UK, in Scotland in 2013, with the second Digital Test Hub opened last year in the Midlands. Edge Testing’s road map includes a new DTH based in the North to offer clients UK-wide an easily accessed remote testing service for their in-house applications and back office systems.
